Our clients approached us to design their penthouse apartment in Amsterdam, seeking a blend of Scandinavian lightness with vibrant Spanish-inspired colours. We began by defining the ‘look and feel’ they envisioned, aiming to create a fresh, inviting atmosphere. Our design included a new floor plan layout with new furniture and finishes for the property including the kitchen and main bathroom, incorporating a sauna with a steam shower adds a wellness element. They also wanted a home office within the open-plan living area, so we designed a custom library wall to separate the office from the lounge. This unique feature combined a TV wall with ample storage and open shelving for their book collection, adding both functionality and a personal touch.
Throughout the bedrooms, we crafted bespoke wardrobe designs, introduced a cohesive colour scheme, and added new ceiling and accent lighting to brighten the entire property. Terra cotta accents in the kitchen and bathroom created a subtle nod to Spanish architecture, while a vibrant blue and yellow floor in the accent bathroom brought in an extra hint of Spanish flair. The remaining colour palette was light and airy to maintain a spacious feel.
We sourced all new furniture, guiding our clients through showroom visits to select pieces that perfectly fit both the space and colour scheme, giving them peace of mind with every choice.
